Damien Hirst

Having never seen the work of Damien Hirst, I had no idea what to expect from his pieces. A few of his images remind me a lot of some the digital photos I posted earlier. The intricacy of some of these paintings shows the viewer the true talent of Mr. Hirst, and proves some times digital isn't always the right idea. 

Five Photomontage

Digital photography allows us to create images which would be normally impossible to create (or at the very least extremely difficult). These images have been created using a composite technique. That is, they were made using other images. Photos like these can serve a wide variety of purposes. They can provide humor and some entertainment (Axl Rose eating Cheetos during the Great Depression), or they can provide useful insight into the direction of a particular project or idea (the last photo depicting planed changes to a highway). Other composite photos allow for a person to create a new image purely from old ones-a kind of a visual sampling. Creating images in this manner is just one of the many interesting aspects of digital imaging and digital photography.

10 Digital images

These pictures were picked because I feel they give a good representation of some of the techniques one can use in digital photography. These techniques allow for visually striking images which immediately capture attention. The images are also great examples of a few of the colors one achieve with digital imaging, some of which are either impossible or extremely difficult to create with more traditional approaches to art.
